New Development! External Clock Synchronization for the SynAmps2 and SynAmps RT
Expanding Your Lab's Potential - Decide What Research You Want to Do and How You Want to Do It.

Despite the current rhetoric, Neuroscan fundamentally developed the first commercially available systems for recording high-quality, high-density 256 channel  EEG. This capability was introduced with the first SynAmps in the early 1990s. When design began for the next generation SynAmps2 in 2000, Compumedics Neuroscan expanded this capacity to record high density EEG up to and beyond 280 channels with the SynAmps2. This amplifier was designed and built with the inherent capability of recording well beyond our previously set definition of high density eeg by incorporating the ability of the amplifier to be driven by an external clock. Consequently, the capacity to record from up to and beyond 580 channels was integrated into the design of the amplifier - when our customers needed it.

This need has now been tested in June of 2010, when the external clock synch function was used to demonstrate the first > 500 channel data acquisition with a SynAmps RT system.

Of course ultra-high density scalp EEG is only one function offered by the capacity to synch the SynAmps 2 or RT to an external clock.   Other new and exciting realms of research become instantly available including  high density grid recordings or, if your experiments are designed for simultaneous testing of groups of subjects,  synchronized recording from up to 8 individual subjects with 70 electrodes per subject. No multiplexing or sample hold functionality involved, just 560 channels of simultaneously sampled synchronous EEG.

Do not let your EEG system place limits on the neuroscience you explore.
Let your imagination set the limit.
Let Compumedics Neuroscan provide flexible systems that will help YOU define the new limits of Neuroscience research.
